I took the Wipro test on 17/4/2004 (last saturday) and cleared the written. it was 80 multiple choice paper.the duration for this is 90min.The paper was divided into 3 sections(Verbal(15),Analytical(35) and Technical(30)).For Verbal and analytical GRE (Barren)old edition will be of great help.The technical is very basic.u don't need to prepare for it.but concentrate on Verbal and analytical section.u should atleast get 50% from each section in order to get thru the written test.
After that they asked us to come for Tech and HR for the next day.In the TEch ,they were concentrating on ur project and then C,C++,SQL,Database(mostly asked),data structures,SE.i was asked abt my marks since it was downfall during my inter.i gave them the raeson.then she started askeing me System Adminstartion.She asked me wht is sys admin.i aswered it.then she said that she had written a shell program to display list of files in reverse order .but after executing this it is not displaying in the reverse order.wht can be the error?i told her that i got very less knowledge abt shell programming.then she shifted to C.she asked me to write code for multiplication and division.i wrote it using a functions.then she asked wht is the result of 0/4.i said 0. then wht abt 7/0.i said it will trow an exception.how will u handle it.i said thru try and catch block.she said there is no try-catch facility in c.i said it is there.she said i think it is in java.i said yes it is.but it is also there in c.she said it is in C++.then i realised thet i read this from C++(balaguru swamy).i said sorry mam.ya it is C++ since i read it from C++ book. she smiled then she asked me how do u swap two register values.i said there r 2 ways of doing this.she asked me to explain both the ways.i showed her 1)with the help of temp variable ans 2) without using temp variable.she was quite impressed withis asnwer.she said tht she was expecting this kind of answer from u.then she asked me explain call-by-valu and call-by-reference and i explained her with an example.then she jumped to Datastructure.she asked me how do u delete a node from a linked list.explain me with clearly.i did it.after all this she started asking me abt my PROJECT.then she said wht do u know abt Wipro?did u any recent news abt it.i told her that 3days back wipro had annouced its financial status and also wipro and infosys had taken a contract of Vijaya bank of 60crores somewhere 2 weeks back . she was quite impressed.then she said i think we can stop now.Any question from ur side.i said "YES mam, wht r the chances of person with poor acads getting selected? she smiled and said u wait outside u will know it very soon. Dear friends i'm happy to say that i cleared my TECHNICAl also. wht is important is how much knowlege u have and not how much u have scored in ur acads.so my dear friend it is better if u have strong knowlege abt subjects.but it is better if u score good marks also.so that atleast u get a chance to write written test.
Next day i got my HR.it was very cool.they r askeing u to describe urself,family background, strengths and weakness and ur project also(some HR were asking) and even technical .so better prepare for ur tech also.i m waiting for the result . hope i will get selected.i m little bit tensed....
